November wrap up…

In the beginning…

I started off the month with great expectations. I always do. I’m an optimist by nature. I’m not entirely sure what happened, but somewhere between Good Luck #NaNoWriMo2018 Participants! and the beginning of this week, I lost almost an entire month.

the middle

It’s like whoops, where did my month go? I can’t explain it. I know I accomplished things. Heck, I cooked a birthday dinner and a Thanksgiving dinner during that last week. I spent time with my family, and I plotted some new scenes for Once Upon a Time in Iowa, but no writing was accomplished.

in the end…

This week was the last week of the month. I finally found the time to buckle down and do some writing. It started on Tuesday. That’s when I doubled my word count. You might be asking, how did you double your word count, Tiffany? and I’ll tell you.

Jesse finally arrived. With his arrival, everything was thrown into chaos. Mary’s quiet little life doesn’t seem so quiet anymore, or maybe it seems too quiet, and she can’t resist the temptation of new excitement.

calling it quits…

Don’t worry. It’s not permanent. The day is winding to a close, and soon I will need to start dinner. Mary and Jesse had an intense moment, and Mary’s expectations were not met. Disappointed and frustrated, she left him standing beside the Willow river without a single word of explanation.

She left him standing beside the log, a look of confusion and hurt on his face. She glanced back only once. She hoped he could find his own way back.

still to come…

Their story is just beginning, and it’s off to a very rocky start. I’ve decided to let them stew in it over the weekend. Next week, I’m going to stir things up a bit more. Can’t have things being easy for them. As it turns out, Mary’s brother, Lewis, takes real issue with the idea of there being a Jesse and Mary. I can’t wait to see what havoc he brings.
