You might remember as 2020 was drawing to a close, I announced that mother and daughter prepare for year long endeavor to crochet temperature blankets. Since it’s April now, I thought it was probably a good time to give y’all a bit of an update.
Daughter didn’t make it very far at all. She crocheted a couple of days before deciding it’s just not for her. She enjoys her amigurumi. A large, year long project seemed to daunting to her. I fully understand and absolutely support her in her decision to change her mind. She makes the cutest little crochet projects, and she has fun doing it.

I was moving along great in those first weeks of January. I was coming home from work and literally falling asleep as I stitched. It was funny. I was going to tell you all about it at the end of January when I posted. Then, I found myself doing battle at work, and my temperature afghan found itself set aside.

I managed to finish January. I’ve been keeping track of the temperatures every day. I’ve been marking them down in my calendar so I won’t forget. I will get back to it. I will create a beautiful temperature blanket for my husband and I to snuggle beneath. By this time next year, it will cover our bed.

I’m settling into my new job and hope to be adjusted to these longer hours soon. First, I have to find the time to continue my work on Once Upon a Time in Iowa. Finishing Jesse and Mary’s story is what’s most important to me.
Once I’ve managed to figure out my new writing schedule (set aside the same square of time each day and it becomes a habit, right?) and made sure I still have time to swing by here and check in with all of you, then I will figure out where I can squeeze in a bit of time for crocheting.
I’ll let y’all know how it all works out.
