back to work, well kind of, not really

I think it’s been a while since I gave y’all an update on how my son is doing. Last update, he had been diagnosed with allergic asthma and begun receiving his biweekly Xolair shots. He was still waiting for his return to work.

We finally got him cleared to return to work. He contacted work immediately. They delayed his return by scheduling a meeting with him just past when his doctor had allowed for his return.

They denied my participation in his meeting. This is a problem because he is autistic and requested that I be allowed to stay. He reported that they bullied him into accepting a four hour shift on the day shift. They delayed his start until the following week.

We got him a ride for his early shift. We were sleeping at the time because of our schedule. He went. He worked from ten am until two pm. They told him they needed to speak with him before he left.

The owner and the plant manager met with him before he clocked out. They informed him that he was going to be part of the mass layoffs. They didn’t give him a return to work date.

Basically, don’t call us we’ll call you.
