This photo prompt landed in front of me, and the story began itching its way through my brain immediately.
I wondered just how I was going to wrangle in this story and tame it into something coherent. I mean how am I supposed to stick all those words onto one deserted island? I hadn't a clue, but I gave it a try anyway.
This is actually a scene I was recently working on in Once Upon a Time in Iowa. In the book, we are with Mary. I thought it might be fun to look at it from Jesse's point-of-view. It's inspired a writing prompt which you can find at the end of this post.
I wasn't certain if I would write it from her perspective or would I write her as a recipe. What does recipe format entail? I'm a recipe writer. How hard can this be?
